what's on your nightstand: caitlin of sacramento street

today's nightstand comes from caitlin flemming of sacramento street. caitlin's blog is definitely a must read, she writes about all things relating to style and every post is filled with inspiring/dreamy imagery. not only is her blog fabulous, but i had the pleasure of meeting caitlin last year and she is quite a lovely lady herself. be sure to check out her inspiring corner of the interwebs - thank you so much for contributing caitlin!

Happy Monday Sincerely Cecelia readers, Caitlin here from Sacramento Street! I'm honored to be part of this new nightstand series. The nightstand itself I found five years ago at an antique shop in Portland, Oregon called Justin & Burks. It seriously was love at first sight . . . I might have even gasped when I saw it. I had seen one similar in an issue of Domino (tear) and had to nab it for my first apartment.

* One of my very favorite design books is Dwellings - it fills my soul with inspiration every single time I open it. That's one of the many reasons why it has a special place on my nightstand.

* Personal photos are my favorite, since we recently got married I picked my all time favorites to frame - this one shown is in the vineyard of our wedding location.

* The photo on the nightstand is from our Junior prom. That's right, my husband and I are high school sweethearts. We used this photo for the front of our save the date. I think it captures the fact that the two of us are always laughing and having a good time.

* My Astier de Villatte plate is where I keep the rings, earrings and necklaces that I wear almost everyday.

* Lastly, I ALWAYS have to have flowers by my side. They put a smile on my face. It's the little things that count.

I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek of my bedside table. Wish I could show you more, but you'll just have to wait a little longer.

Hope all of you have a wonderful week - stay warm where ever you are, it's cold here in San Francisco!

feeling domestic

we just got a washer/dryer set for the apartment today! jason and i are incredibly happy that we won't have to lug loads to the laundry mat anymore, but i think i know someone who is enjoying clothes fresh from the dryer even more than we are...

what's on your nightstand: my very own nightstand

i thought putting my amateur photography skills to the test and sharing my own nightstand would be a fab way to start off a new year for the series! so here is my very own nightstand before i moved into the new apartment...so you can bet i'll be sharing a new vignette in the near future!

the nightstand itself came from my grandparents - who in my opinion are flea marketing professionals. they have the greatest barn in oregon chock-full of vintage treasure that they sell at markets and occasionally on ebay. this headboard came from them too, i didn't bring it with me during the move though because i plan to make a diy upholstered version soon.

i always keep a stack of design magazines/books bedside for constant inspiration and like many of my fellow bloggers...manicures frequently take place here. my nightstand is current rocking opi bubble bath and drip dry...my diy manicure lifesaver...i highly recommend you pick some up.

as far as accessories go...

1. lamp - target (purchased with my very first paycheck from my first real design job here, three years ago)
2. letter "c" - a vintage find from the alameda flea market
3. candle - the original olivina scent "cielo" a gift from a co-worker. soooo lovely
4. silver tray - a must for earrings and hair ties before bed, found at the church mouse thrift shop in sonoma
5. iphone - i feel naked without it

and my bedding, etc...

1. damask duvet set - ikea
2. throw pillows, white linens and linen bedskirt - target
3. tiny/adorable chihuahua - her name is nelli...you can't have her :)

i hope you enjoyed a peak at my little nightstand...i can't wait to share the bedroom in our new apartment once it's finished! have a super fab week everyone! xo

p.s. thanks mom for letting me borrow your camera! :)
