i've always been a fan/supporter of lauren conrad (team lauren...if you will) and i was thrilled to find out about her latest venture the little market. the company mission is wonderful the products are TO DIE. felt pom garlands? SO MUCH YES. the holidays are literally right around the corner and i'm so happy to have found a new source for gift giving (and wish listing!).

dress up your orchid

have you ever purchased a beautiful orchid to give as a gift (or to keep and admire yourself)? you know those ugly little hair clips or green twist ties that come attached to that fabulous orchid? yeah...change those out. just use a piece of raffia, twine or string (i like to use bakers twine) and tie a nice tight bow holding the orchid to the stake in place of the clips/ties. you can even use a little moss to bump up the chic factor by tucking a bit under your bow before you pull it taut - bingo - a well dressed orchid.

some of the best gifts are things you can't necessarily buy from a store, but they definitely provide fun + memories:

1. lessons - musical, art, sports, cooking, you name it (find an instructor on craigslist)
2. tickets - concerts, comedy shows, sports, poker tournaments, etc.
3. time - if he doesn't have much free time for the things he likes tell him you’ll regularly make some special time for him to do that thing (i.e. game night with the guys + offer to cook and set up). it’s low budget and it will give him something to really look forward to.
